The Risohorse® ebb and flow system is constructed on the natural soil.
A formation level laid with a foil is prepared on the aforementioned surface. A drainage pipe system connected to a regulating reservoir outside the riding surface is laid on the foil.
A footing layer of approx. 30 cm of sand is placed on the drainage pipes and irrigated with water from the drainage pipes. The riding surface obtains its firmness by this means.
The riding surface receives a constant basic moisture level and its elasticity through the capillary action of the sand. The top sand of the footing layer draws the moisture from the bottom sand layer into the top footing layer.
The moisture content of the riding surface is permanently measured by a pressure sensor in the regulating reservoir and adjusted to the individual requirements fully automatically via the connected riding arena control system.
